A curated alphabet book documenting curious beekeeping artifacts and their hidden histories. The project originated from discovering Eva Crane’s Historical Collection Catalogue, an extensive digital archive of bee-related objects. I was captivated by the specificity and charm of the collection and felt compelled to translate it into an analog “treasure book.”

Maintaining the clarity and structure of a catalog, I introduced play through form and typographic system. Each letter of the alphabet is paired with a selected artifact, unified by a hexagonal display typeface referencing hive geometry. The hexagonal grid adds subtle texture, while the consistent layout allows each object and letterform to stand on its own. The book invites viewers to move slowly through knowledge, treating research as both discovery and delight.
